- Duration of surgery
Liposuction has a variable duration, more than 3 hours.
- Recovery
Post-surgical recovery is gradual, the inflammation will disappear approximately 8 months after surgery, the patient is required to remain in partial rest for five to seven days; the patient will be able to return to activities gradually and perform physical exercise after 6 weeks.
- Risks and possible Complications
All surgery carries risks and possible complications, one or more of the following could occur: Bleeding during and after surgery; accumulation of inflammatory fluid (Seroma), wound infections, wound opening, difficulty to heal especially in smokers and / or diabetic patients, asymmetries, irregularities, fat embolism, allergies to medications, etc.
- Results
To maintain the final result for as long as possible, the patient must maintain a healthy diet and balanced nutrition with regular exercise.
Additional Information
It will be necessary to leave some small tubes to drain residual liquid for a few days. The patient must wear compression garments for 6 to 8 months and a rehabilitation program with ultrasound, radio frequency, etc. for best results and decrease postoperative pain and inflammation. If there are no complications, an overnight stay is required, which is included in the initial cost; in case of any complication, additional medications may be required, an extra night, or even re-entry to the operating room; these additional expenses are not included in the initial cost.
